Sufi Contemplation & Poetic Abstraction

2011–2014

In this period, Almosawi’s practice engages with Sufi philosophy and the poetic thought of Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, positioning visual form as a mode of meditative inquiry. The work develops through repetition, rhythm, and fluid linear structures that evoke inward movement and contemplative focus.

Rather than illustrating spiritual themes, the compositions translate these influences into a restrained abstract language, where structure, continuity, and spatial flow articulate a reflective and immersive experience.
