2023–2025
This recent body of work is defined by large-scale, materially driven compositions in which figuration re-emerges within a predominantly abstract and structural language. Charcoal-dominant surfaces generate dense spatial fields where form appears, dissolves, and reconfigures.
The works engage themes of concealment, identity, and instability, articulated through the tension between visibility and erasure. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, the compositions operate as open systems in which presence is negotiated through fragmentation, layering, and structural compression.
This body of work investigates drawing as a spatial and architectural act. Executed in charcoal on large-scale canvas, the works extend drawing beyond its traditional role as a preparatory medium into a mode of structural construction.
Line functions not as expressive gesture, but as an organizing system—producing density, rhythm, and tension across the surface. Through layered linear networks, the compositions articulate spatial depth, movement, and psychological intensity.
Situated between drawing and painting, the works construct frameworks that evoke both architectural scaffolding and cognitive structures. Drawing emerges here as an autonomous medium, capable of generating complex spatial environments while retaining the immediacy and material presence of the hand.
