Early Etchings (Moon Series)

1978–1983

This formative body of work establishes etching as a primary investigative medium within Almosawi’s practice. Symbolic imagery—moon forms, birds, and hybrid figures—emerges as a visual language through which psychological and temporal states are articulated.

These works resist direct representation, instead constructing layered, dream-like environments that anticipate the artist’s later engagement with memory, abstraction, and spatial structure.
